Innovative ways to improve the quality of life on a very real & tangible basis for the homeless and the working poor! Our current programs include:
Homeless Prevention/Financial Assistance
Housing Assistance
- Payment of deposit and first months rent for working homeless to obtain apartment
- Payment of Temporary housing in hotels and boarding houses
- Referrals to Transitional Housing for men
- Referrals to permanent transitional housing
Healthy Living Initiative
- Daily distribution of emergency nutritious food to poor children and families
- Monthly distribution of food to homeless living outdoors in camps
- Sunday morning brunch and counseling services in downtown Atlanta
- 17,000 hot meals delivered to Senior Citizens Homes annually
- Quarterly distribution of food and supplies to over 20 organizations throughout the State of Georgia
Medical Care
- Physicians, nurses, nurse techs and sometimes even dentists offer their expertise to help assess and refer guests for care, offering OTC multiple vitamins, flu shots, Blood Pressure-Cholesterol-HIV-Diabetes screenings, skin care and referrals to local STD clinics, mental health centers
- Medical Mission trips to Haiti provide doctors and medicines to 2,500 of the poorest of the poor
Education
- HFTH “Tools For Schools” provides disenfranchised children with the supplies they need to succeed in school all year long
- Soft job and life skills training and employment referrals
- Computer Lab with training in Microsoft Office Suite
- Partnership with Atlanta Public Schools to provide GED classes
- Financial literacy workshops and individual budgeting counseling provided local bank employees
Small Business Incubator
- Marketing of small business in yearly newsletters, Email blasts and direct mail pieces
- Micro-loans to small business developers to be used as seed money
- Provide consultants to small business owners in marketing, website design, bookkeeping, incorporation and 501 (c) (3) applications
Children’s Programs
- Back To School Jamboree provides 2,500 poor children with the tools to succeed
- Daily distribution of nutritious food to poor children especially in the summer months when 80% of children living in poverty do not receive lunch
- 1,200 children from local subsidized housing are transported to our holiday dinner events to received food, clothing, toiletry items, and beauty and barber supplies. A library of books on various subjects from pre-K to adult, available and distributed with food boxes in the care center to encourage reading and develop literacy skills
- Funds to support mothers who are working with aftercare childcare fees

Holiday Dinner Event Series
Since 1971 Hosea Feed The Hungry and Homeless has produced its signature holiday dinner event series for the homeless and the working poor on Thanksgiving, Christmas, Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday and Easter Sunday serving some 50,000 people. Over 1,500 volunteers are utilized at each event providing the homeless and the working poor with medical services provided from the Metro Atlanta HFTH Medical Clinic, barber and beauty service, home delivery of nutritious hot meal, clothing/toiletry distribution, childrens’ services, toys, books, clothes and a free seven course hot meal. A free all you can eat seven course hot meal is prepared fresh the night before and loads of entertainment, inspirational speeches encouragement are enjoyed during this season when depressions is at an all time high.
The Hosea House-Historical Education
The Hosea House is the memorial home of the founders Rev. Hosea and Juanita T. Williams located in the historic section of East Lake in Atlanta. The home will house the HFTH Executive Offices and have displayed historic memorabilia of the famous couple.
